"Nude Woman Raising Arm"

1962, 22" x 26"

I bought this piece at the same time as "Bearded Man in Floral Hat" previously shown in Gallery II. This is not a work I've ever displayed but I think it fits in well with the rest of my collection. It's actually very difficult to find truly interesting or spectacularly awful nudes, and most of the risque'paintings I encounter are surprisingly well-done and skillfully executed. I'm speculating that it takes real chutzpah to tackle the naked human form, and that in general most amateurs either can't find models or are daunted at the task of painting something which is such a large part of modern imagery.
