"Man Reading Newspaper at Bus Stop"

Baumgatner, 20" x 26"

Compliments of the T.E. Dunne Collection. I must have looked at this painting twenty times before I figured out that it wasn't an abstract painting and that there were two figures present. I really like the way the brick wall and the rest of the background obscure the two figures, which accounts for my previous confusion. The man's torso, shortened to fit into the frame of the picture, contrasts nicely with the disembodied head of the woman walking by just a split second away from exiting the scene.
