This painting reminded me of the cover of Jethro Tull's, "Aqualung" when first purchased. Now I'm not quite sure what to think. I do like the painterly style, the constricted framing of the figure, and the ambiguous look on the subject's face as he looks off into the distance. Not my favorite piece, but the rolled-up sleeves and oversized forearms alone make it worth the price of admission.
