"The Eye"

1978, 24" x 30"

This fine piece came into my possession courtesy of the greatly missed City Flea Market. I was almost ready to head for the exits one weekend when this painting "caught my eye". I had initially walked past the dealer's booth thinking that the painting was just another poor imitation of a theme already covered by both Magritte and Lichtenstein. However, the small, cursive inscription in the center of the eyeball reading "Montague" was so intriguing that I could not leave empty-handed that day.
