"Brown Bear Attacks Well-Armed Men in Canoe"

1976, 19" x 23"

A beautiful depiction of the struggle which currently takes place between man and nature, this piece speaks to me in the same way "Turtle Crosses Road While Automobile Approaches" does in Gallery III. The tension of the scene is seemingly unbearable (no pun intended); Will the hunters who so callously intrude upon the approaching creature's homeland triumph with their weapons of destruction? Or will the majestic beast ultimately prevail as he violently rips the hunter's bodies to shreds, tearing them limb from limb amidst cries of agony, and eventually sending their bloody mangled carcasses into the turbulent waters below?
